MAN WHITESIDE will be at the club with many a tale to tell. He is stay=
ing over and will remain at the Bar throughout the evening!!=0D=0A=0D==
0ABorn in Belfast in 1965, Norman Whiteside made his first-team debut =
for Manchester United at the age of sixteen and became the youngest pl=
ayer ever to appear in the World Cup finals in 1982. He was an FA Cup =
winner in 1983 and scored the winning goal in the FA Cup final in 1985=
. After 67 goals in seven years for Manchester United, Whiteside trans=
ferred to Everton and was forced to retire due to injury at the age of=
 26. He now works as a podiatrist for the Professional Footballers Ass=
ociation, as a match-day host at Manchester United, and is an in-deman=
d after-dinner speaker.=0D=0A=0D=0ANorman Whiteside is more than a cul=
t hero to Manchester United fans. In his eight years with the club, he=
came to embody their aspirations to such an extent that he was embrac=
ed as their on-field representative, the supporter on the pitch. In th=
is fascinating autobiography, Whiteside reveals the workings of Old Tr=
afford during the 1980s - the good, the bad, the booze and the arrival=
of Fergie. His stories of growing up in the sectarian violence of Bel=
fast will shock many, whereas the determination he showed when rebuild=
ing his life when his footballing career was destroyed by injury will =
act as an inspiration. His career is littered with unforgettable momen=
ts, among them the astonishing performance of the seventeen-year-old u=
surper of Pele's 'youngest ever' World Cup record as Northern Ireland =
beat Spain in Valencia in 1982. =0D=0A=0D=0A=0D=0AMC/ Comedian for the=
night is Peter Emmett and also starring is North East comedian, Mick =
Monroe. =0D=0A=0D=0AMick, a native of Middlesborough, began his career=
